Activists and Human Rights Watch Accuse Paramilitaries of Executions

Darfuri Activists Report Tens of Thousands Fleeing Camp After Raid

EL-FASHER, Darfur, Sudan – At least 23 people were killed Saturday in shelling by Sudanese paramilitaries in the besieged city of El-Fasher, activists said.

Human Rights Watch (HRW) has accused the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and allied Arab militias of carrying out the executions.

The RSF and Arab militias are specifically accused of killing lawyers, human rights monitors, doctors, and non-Arab tribal leaders.

Separately, activists reported that tens of thousands of people have fled their homes in a camp in the Sudanese city of al-Fashir after a raid by Rapid Support Forces.
